Amlin launch Formula E partnership with legendary Andretti Formula E

The Leadenhall Building, 6 August 2015: at their new global HQ in London, Amlin, the global insurance and reinsurance company, announce that for season 2 of the FIA Formula-E Championship, it is partnering with the legendary Andretti organisation and the Andretti Formula E race team.

The partners are excited by the potential for their new relationship after enjoying a successful inaugural year of the global, all electric, single-seater championship. Practice sessions start at Donington, England on 10th August as the lead up begin for the first race of season 2 in Beijing, China on 17th October.

 

Winning races while contributing to the development of new technology is the ultimate goal for the 11 races in 10 locations for the global series in 2015 and 2016, with the team seeking to push the boundaries of motorsport.

 

Both brands are high profile in their respective sectors and share common values of integrity and professionalism and are marked by longevity in their respective sectors. Amlin has a 120 year history with client relationships that in some instances have lasted several decades. Andretti has been a global force in motorsport for more than 60 years.

 

A natural fit, the relationship between Amlin and Andretti goes beyond the sponsor / sponsored arrangement.

 

Amlin dominated the global social media for the racing series across season 1, peaking at 51% of the global share of voice. With the unique and innovative FanBoost, the series has shown how much of a contribution new forms of fan engagement this can make.

 

Team Owner Michael Andretti said “Amlin did such a good job promoting their team in season 1 we’re really looking forward to what this new partnership can bring in the coming years”.

Uniquely in the racing series, experts from Amlin’s insurance modelling and analytics team will be working with the race engineers to develop an in depth understanding of what the car is capable of and how they can maximise its performance in a season where they have the opportunity to really develop the car’s technology.

 

Charles Philipps went on to explain “Amlin’s global strength in data analysis and our long-term view of business means fits well with this series and combined with Andretti’s excellent motorsport pedigree means we are looking forward to a fantastic few years.” He believes the Amlin-sponsored team will again be the first choice for fans. “Fans have a lot to look forward to in this season; we can’t wait to get started and really see what the technology can deliver as we push the limits”.

 

The team, based in Donington, and led by co team principals Roger Griffiths and J-F Thormann are in the early stages of preparing for their first race in the Championship, which will take place in Beijing on 17th October. The team will be on show to the public for the first time during the scheduled test days on the Monday 10 August 2015.
