STAVANGER, Norway, September 8, 2015 ? Autronica today announced that the AUTRO SAFE® Integrated Fire and Gas Detection System has been selected by Statoil for its operations in the Johan Sverdrup oil field in the North Sea. Autronica Fire and Security AS, a leading provider in safety solutions for the marine and oil & gas segment, is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
As part of the four-year framework agreement, one of the most significant in the brand’s history, Autronica will provide AUTRO SAFE fire and gas detection systems to Statoil’s offshore installations in the oil field. The agreement includes options for 2 plus 2 years and for supplying systems to the nearby Johan Castberg, Peregrino and Snorre fields. Installation of the detection systems, which will be developed and manufactured by Autronica in Norway, will begin in early 2016.
