BAE Systems has announced it will become a platinum partner of Cyber London, Europe’s first dedicated cyber security start-up accelerator. BAE Systems will provide in-kind support and access to their experts who will offer support and guidance to the start-ups.
Cyber London’s accelerator delivers a 14-week programme during which entrepreneurial teams with innovative business ideas are provided access to professional training and guidance from an accomplished network of mentors and investors. At the end of the programme, the start-ups will pitch to potential investors and partners at an in-house ‘Demo Day’.
Sir Iain Lobban, Chairman of Cyber London’s Advisory Board and former Director of the British intelligence service GCHQ, said:
“It’s fantastic that such a prestigious company is supporting Cyber London’s efforts to make the UK a global hub for the cyber security companies of tomorrow. This shows genuine leadership in a vital sector of the global economy.”
Richard Wilding, Director of New Ventures and Innovation at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence said:
“Involvement in partnerships such as this one are a great way for us to help support the brightest new minds in the cyber security industry, while at the same time giving us a chance to refresh our own thinking and processes. We see this as being part of our duty to protect the connected world and are looking forward to seeing fledgling cyber companies flourish.”
Alex van Someren of Amadeus Capital Partners, co-founder of Cyber London, said:
“It’s fantastic that BAE Systems Applied Intelligence has chosen to support the evolution of Cyber London in this way. They are serious about supporting UK and European cyber security innovation, and I’m confident the benefits will accrue both to the start-ups involved, and to their own organisation”.
