– Former British GT4 Champion makes debut in British F3
– The UK’s leading single-seater category
– Oulton Park to host first 3 Rounds this Saturday and Monday
– Milestone in the career of the young, female racer
This weekend marks an important milestone for Jamie Chadwick as she embarks on her maiden single-seater campaign with Double R Racing in British Formula 3.
Her career to date has seen her rise through Ginetta Juniors and up the GT ladder with numerous successes along the way, including the British GT4 title in 2015, becoming a BRDC Rising Star, Aston Martin Academy Driver, MSA Academy Driver, and gaining her Nordschleife Endurance Race Permit.
Following a pre-season training schedule and test programme, Jamie feels as prepared as possible to face the challenge ahead.
“I’ve been working really hard over the last six weeks in the lead up to this. It’s a big change for me, coming from a GT background, so I’ve had to adapt quickly and get used to a new way of driving. I’m fortunate to have a great team of people supporting me at Double R, and I’ve been on a strict programme both in and out of the car to get me ready. I cracked some ribs in February which set me back slightly, but I’m fully healed and can’t wait to test myself against some of the best young talent in the world this year”.
Jamie is well in control of her expectations heading into Round 1, with a clear strategy focused around development and learning. Speaking of the year ahead, Chadwick explained:
“I’m going into this with my eyes open and need to continue learning and developing my skills in open wheel formula, but equally we want to do well, show progress, and be satisfied that we’ve optimized the possibilities for this year. I’m feeling fit and positive so perhaps we can surprise a few people along the way”.
Qualifying gets underway on Saturday 15 April at 11:05, followed by Race 1 at 15:45. There is no racing on Sunday, so Race 2 takes place on Monday 17 April at 09:55, and Race 3 at 14:45
