The two most passionately held views put forward at Highways UK over the last couple of years have been the need for a better deal for local authorities and secondly promoting much closer integration of transport and spatial planning in the pursuit of better place making. Whether the priority is fixing potholes, easing congestion or improving air quality, it is these two intertwined big themes that will determine how we make our roads future proof, climate resilient and an asset for our citizens.
And that’s why local authority-focused content is on an equal footing to the strategic road network at this year’s Highways UK. Naturally we have the dedicated Local Authority Hub, sponsored by Ringway and supported by ADEPT, LGTAG and LCRIG, as a place to network and share ideas. But beyond this you’ll find content relevant to the urban, local and county road networks in abundance.

Bookings already indicate strong growth in attendance among senior local authorities figures. Make sure you don’t miss out on the opportunity. The event is free to attend and endorsed by CIHT for CPD.
