Immersive Labs awarded DCMS Cyber Skills Grant for Neurodivergent Academy

Neurodivergent individuals can develop and enhance cyber skills with ground-breaking training platform

London, UK – 25th June 2018: Immersive Labs has been awarded a grant as part of the Cyber Skills Immediate Impact Fund from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) to create a Neurodivergent Digital Cyber Academy, as part of the ongoing effort to bridge the cyber skills gap. Immersive Labs will create a specific Digital Cyber Academy (DCA) for neurodivergent individuals to help them upskill, develop knowledge and technical skills required for a cyber career. Once users of the platform achieve certain badges, they can apply for jobs with corporate sponsors of the academy based on these demonstrable skills. The DCA will host over 250 labs on its platform, challenging those from novice cyberists to expert.

RBC invests $2M in artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to develop advanced cyber security techniques

ERM Advanced Telematics Completes Development of Anti-Ransomware Solution for Vehicles

International automotive technology provider ERM Advanced Telematics ( has completed development of an integrated hardware-software product that protects vehicles against ransomware and other cyber-attacks. The solution, called eCyber, is suited for both OEMs and the aftermarket. New GZipDe Malware Drops Metasploit Backdoor

News broke today that researchers from AlienVault have discovered a new malware strain named GZipDe that appears to be part of a targeted attack —most likely a cyber-espionage campaign. Researchers discovered this new malware earlier this week after a user from Afghanistan uploaded a boobytrapped Word document on VirusTotal. The document contained text taken from an article published last month about the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, a political conference on Eurasian political, economic, and security topics.

Europol makes 95 arrests in 28 countries over organised online fraud

It has been reported that, in a joint operation between the banking industryEuropol and police forces in 28 countries, a total of 95 arrests have been made for online fraud from June 4th-15th. Suspects are to be interrogated over 20,000 fraudulent transactions using compromised credit cards, with an estimated value exceeding EUR 8 million (£7 million). The suspects arrested during the operation are believed to be responsible for more than 20,000 fraudulent transactions using compromised credit cards.
